As a Los Angeles native, my favorite thing about this town is the diversity. Los Angeles is a cultural and cultural hub enabling us to possess usage of wonderful art museums, musical venues, and my own favorite, delicious food! I am known into the office for being a food aficionado and am constantly surprised by what l . a . as well as the USC that is local neighborhood to offer in this respect.
One of my favorite USC neighborhood establishments is Mercado La Paloma (The Dove Market), a food that is mini within walking distance of campus. La Paloma features cuisines from around the world including my two favorites, Chichen Itza, that provides food from the Yucatan Peninsula in Mexico, and Mo-Chica which features premium Peruvian food at a reasonable price. Mo-Chica had been voted 4th best restaurant in l . a . by LA Magazine in 2010. This marketplace is a hidden gem in our community.
Every summer, once a week, our admission counselors have a long lunch at a neighborhood restaurant and then explore what our community has to offer by visiting local museums and galleries. Last year one of the greatest hits ended up being the 23rd Street Café which will be accessible utilizing the USC Tram. It’s a fusion of Indian-Mexican food, with some of the most chicken that is mouthwatering masala quesadillas.
Chano’s, a USC institution, is located a brief walk from campus. Aside from the fact that it is open to the wee hours associated with the night, you’ll find some decent Mexican food there. Surrounding Chano’s is nearly any and each food that is fast known to man. Our office favorites include Five Guys, Free Birds, Chipotle, and Chick-Fil-A all within walking distance!
In addition to some off-campus favorites, i would really like to highlight the excellent food options we have on campus. Our new Ronald Tutor Campus Center also has plenty of options for students including Panda Express, Wahoo’s Fish Taco, California Pizza Kitchen, and Carl’s Jr. Lemonade, a Los Angeles boutique café, has local and natural foods and is additionally among the most readily useful food that is healthy on campus. They also have 4 different flavors of fresh lemonade every single day, my being that is favorite blueberry-mint. The dining halls on campus, such as Parkside Residential Dining Hall, offer a variety of cuisine ranging from pizza to international specialties if you’re looking for an all-you-can-eat experience.
Recently in Los Angeles there is a food vehicle occurrence, boasting a few of the most revolutionary, delicious, affordable, shmoop buy a research paper and food that is quick. Final week we took a lunch day at the foodstuff trucks. In the picture you can see us getting prepared to chow down on Filipino style tacos and good old American burgers. They’ve been on campus daily and can be tracked through Twitter.
Well, as you can see I can speak about meals for long periods of time, however I encourage you to not only experience exactly what our school is offering on campus, but also get to understand our neighborhood. Who knows? Day you may run into one of us at lunch one!
